Climate-KIC Spain, the Spanish Center for Innovation in Climate Change, has formalized its becoming a member of Spanish Group for Green Growth.

The Spanish Group for Green Growth is an Association created to promote public-private collaboration and jointly advance the environmental challenges we currently have. Solutions for mitigation and adaptation to climate change, decarbonisation of the economy or the promotion of a circular economy undoubtedly go together with business and are key to create a prosperous society. At the point of constructing a zero carbon economy through the boost to entrepreneurship and decarbonization of companies, it is necessary to be continuously innovating, that is the link between both organizations.

Climate-KIC runs programmes for students, start-ups and innovators across Europe via centres major cities, convening a community of the best people and organisations. Its approach starts with improving the way people live in cities. Our focus on industry creates the products required for a better living environment, and we look to optimise land use to produce the food people need.

The work of Climate-KIC in Spain has allowed the creation of more than 60 startups that have developed dozens of innovative projects in the fight against global warming.

On the other hand, the Spanish Green Growth Group and the companies of this consortium, encourage the participation of companies in the most relevant debates in the sustainability field, both nationally and internationally, sharing information and identifying opportunities for the Spanish companies and the National economy. Both, the Spanish Green Growth Group and Climate-KIC Spain are perfectly aligned in their approaches and their roadmaps towards decarbonization, so a promising future is expected, full of opportunities for Spanish society and action for the climate, where collaboration between public administrations and the business community plays a key role.
